I feel a little like a guy who has come home late from the pub and is trying to explain how he got delayed and why he didn’t finish his work last week when we opened a subject that simply needs two weeks to cover. The theme was Music Heard at the Pub and we talked about how many composers use folk songs for inspiration for their wind band music that they heard at the Public House. We talked about Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Holst, and Gordon Jacob but we never got to Percy Grainger or Edward Elgar, and we stayed right in England when it is pretty clear, this method of inspiration wasn’t only going on in the British Isles. So, on this episode, we'll finish the story. Read the full description.
