I'm the ruler of the Kingdom
My domain: length, height, and depth
Imperialistic, conquering
Your ruler's under threat.
This is a riddle about the metric system. There are some nice double meanings in this one. "The ruler of the Kingdom" sounds like a monarch of some sort. But no, we're talking about the metric ruler. And the Kindom is the UK where the metric system rules. So it's our inches, tablespoons, and cups that are under threat by the encroaching meters, liters, and grams that rule the vast majority of the world.
NEW RIDDLE:
We may be arched, we may be scant
Our voice is seen not heard
Surprise, dismay, or scathing wrath
We speak without a word.
(answer: see 7/7/12 piece)
