Once in a while I literally stumble across a band that I just can't stop listening to. I had a pile of CDs in my office and after the fell on the floor - this CD "Culture Tunnels" was at the top of the heap. Jazzodcprx_small Once in a while I literally stumble across a band that I just can't stop listening to.  I had a pile of CDs in my office and after the fell on the floor - this CD "Culture Tunnels" was at the top of the heap.  It looked interesting - so I put it ahead of others and started listening to it.  That was over 4 years ago and I am still loving this recording.  Kiwi pianist Aron Ottignon and his band have produced a grooving, rythmic exciting Modern Jazz recording.  They weave in South Pacific influences to what almost sounds like the music of Scandanavian piano trios like EST and Helge Lien.  The melodies are inviting, percussion is intoxicating, I hope you like this recording as much as I do and I hope they produce more because I need another dose of Aronas!  Enjoy!!
