Producer Clarence Boone speaks with Indiana Black Expo Vice President of Communications, Vernon Williams, about this year's IBE Summer Celebration. Also, Hosts Bev Smith and Leila Randle chat with local singer Leah McRath about her upcoming concert, "Inseparable Union." As always, Bring It On! explores headline news and local calender events of interest to the African-American community.
PART ONE
Two years after attending an expo in Chicago, IL, a few religious and civic leaders in the Indianapolis community decided to establish an Indiana based Black Expo. They understood the pressing need to create an avenue to display positive African-American ideas and founded the Indiana Black Expo in 1970. Now IBE is celebrating its 42nd year Anniversary. It has encouraged, uplifted and celebrated the accomplishments and achievements of African-Americans throughout Indiana.
PART TWO
“Inseparable Union” is to be held on June 23rd at 7 p.m. at Bethel AME Church located at 302 N. Rogers St. in Bloomington. Donations will be accepted.
