The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit on Wednesday on behalf of the Center for Inquiry, an internationally recognized non profit organization dedicated to working towards a society based in science, reason, freedom of inquiry, critical thinking and humanist values. The lawsuit concerns the Indiana Code’s section 31-11-6-1, which determines who is allowed to perform and solemnize marriages in the state.
