The sounds of college life are often like this: loud, electrifying, and a little rowdy. When you factor a dog or a cat into this life, it’s easy to see a complication. The situation is common on a college campus. Miami University is no different. What is the effect of this busy, and sometimes dangerous, college life on animals? Operations Manager of the Butler County Animal Shelter Tara Allen says they do not let college students adopt dogs from their shelter.

A dangerous situation an animal can be placed in is a party. Alcohol and loud music are hazards for animals. Junior, and fraternity brother, Forrest McGuire says most fraternities with animals are mindful of their pets during parties because the dog becomes a brother.
