In August 2001, on their first ever visit to the UK, BBC broadcaster Mark Coles interviewed the then relatively unknown Detroit band The White Stripes on the BBC's flagship news and current affairs current programme "Today". A press frenzy followed and the White Stripes went on to international stardom, securing two number one albums in the UK. Eleven years on, following the demise of the band, singer and guitarist Jack White has now gone solo. This week he released his debut solo album "Blunderbuss". In London to promote it, he teamed up with Mark Coles again to talk about his latest work
