This is a riddle about a pinata. It messes with your mind a bit. Such a trivial answer for a riddle with an intensity that riles our sense of justice. The hanging and beating of an innocent -- it sounds like Good Friday, or a tragic news story. But instead it's a pinata, whacked by jubilant children until it bleeds torrents of candy. Here are a couple of alternative answers I especially like: a bucket collecting maple sap ... or a blood orange that's squeezed into orange juice.
