Zimbabwe-born writer David Dinnell has a love of the sea and takes any opportunity to go scuba diving - despite some rather risky situations.

After a strong current takes him too far from the beach, he makes for the rocky coastline. He survives, only to find himself narrowly missing a landing plane. Confronted by airport police, he is forced to jump back into the water - through a colony of sting rays - and attempts to swim back to the beach.
