Undocumented students wait for DREAM Act to become a reality
AB540 is a state law that enables undocumented students who have attended California high schools for three or more years to pay in-state tuition at a public college or university. While that can help these students continue their education, one big obstacle remains between them and a successful career in the U.S.: citizenship. The federal DREAM Act would grant permanent residency to students who have obtained a required level of education.
