Glasper_small In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, neo-soul with a jazz twist, from Esperanza Spalding and Robert Glasper. Both of them seem to have radio in mind, Glasper's album is called Black Radio and Spalding's is Radio Music Society. We'll hear tracks from each of them that feature the singing of Lalah Hathaway, as well as a classic jazz piece sung by Erykah Badu with Glasper's band. We have new blues from Chicago bluesman Eddie C. Campbell, and soul singer and harmonica player Curtis Salgado, as well as boogie woogie from two of the best contemporary boogie woogie players working together, Lluís Coloma and Bob Seeley.  Also: new jazz from pianists who feature wonderful interactions with their bandmates, including the latest from Clara Ponty, who brings in her father violinist Jean-Luc Ponty, Vijay Iyer and his imaginative trio, and Lisa Hilton in remarkable musical intimacy with drummer Nasheet Waits. Plus a musical tribute to Nelson Mandela from the Kora Jazz Band.
