In addition he has extensively toured Switzerland, both as a solo musician and supported by Swiss band, Tacha. He is best known for his songwriting skills and his warm personality. While on stage, he reaches into the hearts of the audience with his Irish humour and his music.
Eunan has won several song competitions in Ireland and in 2000 he receifved the Pete St John ASCIA ASward for his song "Josie" which also won the Sean McCarthy All-Ireland Ballad Song Competition. He won this competition again in 2002 and has, on several occasions, received first prize in the Clonmany Song Writing Competition.
Eunan has supported acts such as Tommy Sands, Sean Keane and the legendary, Wolfe Tones. He has also supported Danny Doyle, Daniel O'Donnell and Sean Cannon (a member of the legendary Dubliners).
Topics discussed include: Early memories of music, Eunan's early life growing up in Ireland as the 2nd youngest of a family of 16 children. How he learned guitar and music from his older brothers, and his early attempts at writing songs when he was only 14 years old. His early career trying out song competitions, qualifying and winning a few, which gave him confidence to take up performing and recording. His song Rathlin Sky, which he wrote about his childhood home in Malin Beg, and a small island called Rathlin Obaern Island where his father spent his life fishing for lobster and crab. Recording his first few tapes, selling them, being asked to go to Switzerland on a tour. Touring in Canada's Newfoundland coast, and writing his song "Bowen Island". How things have changed now that he has his own family, and how songs come to him now. His own view of songwriting now, living in a place that's rich in traditional music, being inspired by ordinary people who love music and sing in the pubs, and how it inspires his own writing. the international power of music, different reactions from the audience in different countries, writing for yourself, and how reactions influence what you might play, his views concerning the tenuous political situation in Northern Ireland, and how it affects his choice of songs and his own songwriting.
