Review of Brazilian Beats

A very nice program, from the ever-interesting "Compact Discoveries" series. Nice introduction to the _other_ brazilian music. Think you've heard it all, samba, jazz and whatnot ? Well think again, and lend your hear for one (too short !) hour to Mr. Flaxman...

As always, Compact Discoveries is one of the best music shows out there, regardless of what type of music lover you may be :

- Are you a classical music audiophile ? Mr. Flaxman will make you discover new pieces, musicians or composers with a soft-spoken tone, full-length pieces and just the right atmosphere.

- You can't stand classical music and hey, let's face it : like most people out there you're way more into hip-hop, rock or pop ? Just try any show from this series, you'll probably won't be turned into a classical music addict but you'll certainly hear a few pieces you would never have thought you'd like (and probably would never had the chance to hear). So please give it a try and you won't regret it, M. Flaxman always has the knack to pick the right extract to make you discover melodies, beats or pieces that everybody can appreciate. Plus his stories and explanations in between help you get a hold of what the artist's lives were all about, (parts about substance abuse and woman troubles included)
