They are Rock, Soul, Funk and hit makers. They are Rare Earth. Gil Bridges talks about the history of Rare Earth. The band was created in the early 1960's calling themselves The Sunliners. They recorded their first album on Verve Records with help from Dennis Coffey. By 1969, they were at Motown and worked with Norman Whitfield and help to form the Psychedelic Soul sound. On this show we will listen to the many sounds of Rare Earth, plus the Temptations, Edwin Starr, The Undisputed Truth, Rose Royce and many others.
