At The Economist's World Ocean Summit in Singapore in early 2012, World Bank Group president Robert B. Zoellick announced that they are turning their attention to the ocean, partnering with NGOs to the tune of 1.5 billion dollars in what will be called The Global Partnership for Oceans.
This "new partnership" is largely comprised of the same organizations and strategies that have been in play for more than a decade. In this episode of World Ocean Radio, host Peter Neill will discuss the key issues to be addressed by the Global Partnership for Oceans and will pose the questions, "Is this grand design anything more than a new overlay of what already is?" and "Are we merely repackaging the status quo in a new glossy wrapper?"
