But in 1994 his car was involved in a horrific hit and run crash, that left him with brain injuries that totally altered the way he now sees and thinks. . He compares his thoughts to a random group of photographs spread on a table. 

In the second story, writer Kent Pierce totals his car but walks away. But the circumstances of the crash lead to an even more profound moment and a point of no return.
