Host Jason Wilber and WFHB Music Director Jim Manion discuss the life and music of the late, great singer/songwriter Bill Wilson. Bill was a beloved musician in Indiana, who acheived some national success before he died of a massive heart attack in 1993. Jason had played music with Bill, and his influence and songs continue to be a legacy in Indiana music history.

Topics discussed include:
Memories of Bill's passing by Jason and Jim, Bill's home in the woods, Gilforth Sound Studios and early independent record label recordings of Bill's music, Bill as a performer, getting lost in the shuffle at Columbia Records, and how Bill moved back to Indiana, Redbud Records and releasing Bill's album "Made in the USA", the song "Made in the USA" and it's relevence to today, the economics of music in the 70's, 80's, and 90's., the song "Heart of America", getting his songs played, and his relationship with the early "Bob and Tom" radio show in Indianapolis, bill's  early days in Austin, and Florida, writing the "Ballad of Cody" about a down and out man he met on the street there in the sixties, Jason meeting Bill while working at a music store and his subsequent working with Bill until he passed a year later, two funny stories about Bill: the coffee pot, and his pager.

Musical selections include:
Indiana Song, Stardust Train, Heart of America, Rolling Home, Take Home Pay, Skid Row Rodeo, Ballad of Cody, Made in the USA.

Special thanks to Johnathan Richardson for digitizing two vinyl records of Bill's, "Made in the USA" and "Talking to Stars".
