This is a piece I put together with my sister for her art show. We gathered voices and media clips to go along with the "Voices of Dissent" aspect of her show and put them together in a neat style.
There is a bit of history you need to know to fully understand this piece. Our family company in Indianapolis, IN, is being threatened with eminent domain if we don't relocate to make room for the new football stadium parking lot. This business has been around since 1938 and in its current location since '47. We are a national company, selling dry packaged Hurst Bean Soup in all 50 states.
This piece is not mean't to be a stand alone radio clip, but I thought as I should put it up here to show some of the work I do.

Review of N.K. Hurst Bean Media MontageThis story is about a financial group that decides to make parking spaces over an old building. This piece was a little hard to follow but got the point across. It also used an interesting style of editing wherein the entire thing was a vox pop of people speaking over other people. This style is often used at the beginning of news openings for only a few second but here it was used for 1 minute and 34 seconds. |

Review of N.K. Hurst Bean Media Montage
This piece is an interesting montage of voices, ranging from news channel reporters to the owners of the company being forced to close and the people of the local community. I would love to hear more from the people being interviewed. I think that these snippets would make a great beginning to a larger piece. I haven't heard anything before this about the closing of the N.K. Hurst Bean Company, but I would certainly like to know more now!
