I have three legs
Yet hobble not
Mis-matched my legs may be
And I'd be hailed
By different name
If I had four not three.

This is a riddle about a triangle.   The clues indicate three legs that don't hobble, so the mind might go to things like a stool or a tripod .... or perhaps another sense of the word 'leg', as in a relay race or a triathalon .... or even a trifecta horse race bet.   But this riddle is about another sort of legs:  the geometrical legs of a triangle.   Add another, and you've joined the ranks of quadrilaterals, like squares, rectangles, and trapizoids.
