Mee Moua was the first Hmong American to be elected to a state legislature and was elected with 60% of the vote in 2002 at the age of 32. She has also held the highest office of any Hmong American politician since she also was a chair on the Judiciary Committee in Minnesota. Mee is currently serving on the board for the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health forum. Just recently she has taken on the role of being the new Executive Director of the Asian American Justice center, whose mission is to advance the human and civil rights of Asian Americans as well as building a fair and equitable society for all.
