Alice Blessing, a well-known Northland artist, has been painting with just her fingers for over ten years and does commission portraits as well as a series of paintings featured in galleries. Just recently, she had an exhibit called “Miss Shapen” where her paintings’ theme was children in beauty pageants. Blessing is currently working on illustrating a children’s book focusing on positive ideals for young girls. She has received two individual artist grants from the Regions 2 Art Council.
