Back on Oct 11th, 2011, Esera Tuaolo presented his talk "America's Favorite Sport: Alone in the Trenches-My Life as a Gay Man in the NFL" at Winona State University.
During his nine-year career Tuaolo played for five different teams including the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. He was the first player to sing the national anthem and then start an NFL game, and the first rookie nose guard to start all sixteen games.
