Doug Wright won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play I AM MY OWN WIFE. In this interview, Wright discusses the research and exploration of the life of a German transvestite who is the central character in the play. He also discusses his 2000 Obie award-winning play QUILLS, about the Marquis de Sade, which was made into a major motion picture, and how he overcame writer’s block to produce this play.
