Peter Noone is of course the singer for the 1960s British pop group Herman's Hermits. I interviewed him in advance of a concert he was giving in a small East Texas town called Crocket. There are a couple of brief references to the concert, but aside from that it's basically an evergreen piece. I realize it's long, so if you'd like to edit it down for time purposes, that is fine with me.
It's really a very nice interview; he's warm and very funny, and was very forthcoming with loads of anecdotal information. His Tom Jones impression is excellent. I laughed out loud (perhaps a little too loud...)
I've never placed anything here on PRX, and having just downloading something, I felt I should post something in return; so if you review me, please be gentle.

Review of Peter Noone interview
Well, I listened to this twice - that's how good it is. Noone is a celebrity who doesn't put your head in a stupor...the interviewer in this piece stays "in the moment" and the result is a very candid glimpse of the life of Peter Noone, who as the lead singer of Herman's Hermits, helped define the British Invasion. First thing I thought of after hearing this is "I believed it." And it's just so darn likeable that Peter Noone values his fans - he credits them with having a real and positive effect on his career. And what a career...Noone's stories about Elvis, the Beatles - and especially the one about John Lennon teasing Tom Jones re: "It's Not Unusual" - those stories are so unique that you'll move the little bar on the playback window to hear him tell them, again! Kudos to an interviewer who seemed to lead as well as follow, and who became a mirror for Noone to show us his world. And respect to Peter Noone - not only for his talent - but for waking up our heads!
