This is Brad Dunn, your host.

So it's the holidays again and everybody's whipping up their favorite recipe for that traditional frothy, creamy libation: eggnog.

But who came up with this crazy concoction?

Well, Eggnog actually has a fascinating history:

The possible origins date back to medieval England and a beverage called 'POSSET' which combined hot milk with wine or ale. (Lady MacBeth actually poisoned some guards with a tainted batch of POSSET).

A drink similar to the EGG FLIP - served in a noggin (a wooden mug of the times) - made with hot milk, eggs and brandy also became popular with England's aristocracy - that stuff was expensive.
