The International Blues Challenge is an annual competition in Memphis, Tennessee held by the Blues Foundation. Blues Societies from around the world send representatives to compete in either the band or solo/duo competitions, or to perform in the youth showcase. The next IBC is scheduled for January 31-February 4, 2012. Complete details on the event are available at the Foundation website: http://blues.org
This episode of Full-Time Blues features music from folks who will be competing in the 2012 event. This is the first in a two part series previewing the I.B.C.
There's Blues News from the Cincy Blues Society regarding a legendary venue closing its doors; and "Johnny's Mailbox" features music from Jimmy Davis, who has a new album just in time for his upcoming trip to compete in the I.B.C.
