Martino_small In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, we'll check out a new album from guitarist Pat Martino. The album "Undeniable" is undeniably appealing, featuring Martino in concert with Eric Alexander on tenor sax, Tony Monaco on organ, and Jeff "Tain" Watts on drums. we'll hear a couple of pieces from the album, plus a new version of a great Herbie Hancock composition, "Dolphin Dance," from pianist Sunnie Paxson, from her recent album "Bohemian Sun" with bassist Stanley Clarke. We'll also hear it from Mr. Hancock himself as well, with Ron Carter on bass, and Tony Williams on drums, from a great 1981 recording they made in Tokyo. Plus, a song from Etta James from her retirement album "The Dreamer," an old blues song recast by vocalist Nicole Henry, and one from soul blues singer Lee Shot Williams who passed away in November at age seventy-three.
