Punk Rock pioneer, Steve Soto, of the Adolescents and Agent Orange, has a side project of "California country" music with his band, Steve Soto and the Twisted Hearts. With influences including Social Distortion's Johnny Cash covers, swing band Royal Crown Revue, and Stax musician Eddie Floyd, Soto's roots records appeal to many music aficionados. Read the full description.

Cfr_rgb_240_wide_small With a home studio and top notch players, Steve Soto made  two "California country" records in the last few years, which might not sound that interesting if Soto were not also one of the most well-known punk rock musicians in Southern California for the last 2 decades.  Before Nick13 of Tiger Army decided to make a roots record, Steve Soto was already working on his third one.  One of the most appealing elements of these two albums is that they are fun--perfect for driving around with your windows down and singing out loud.
