Roots rocker, Kasey Anderson, left his native Pacific Northwest for Germany, and found that place defines him in spite of himself. Our conversation reflects on how his time in Europe helped him find peace with a place he left in disgust, and the resulting album, Nowhere Nights. Read the full description.

Cfr_rgb_240_wide_small Kasey Anderson's musical influences include the Replacements, Elton John, Joe Pug, David Bowie, and Townes Van Zandt.  The roots rocker hails from Portland, Oregon, but several miserable years in Bellingham, Washington, ultimately led to the lyrics of this record.  After moving to Germany for a year, Anderson returned to find the area both familiar and new to him, without the dread about the bridges he had burned.  His record, Nowhere Nights, shares his life's unraveling in a way that people can relate to, even without similar life experiences.

Technical notes:  This interview was conducted via Skype from Germany, impacting the audio quality from our normal rigorous standards.
