Start text segment 1 ? Welcome to “Bonjour Chanson”. We bring you French Popular Music with an English narrative. You will get to know the artists and their music and they may grow on you. You heard an excerpt from the song “The Days” by Charles Aznavour. In September 2011 we attended a concert by him at the Olympia music-hall in Paris. We’ll tell you about that wonderful event and we’ll play the entire song at the end of the show.

Our first artist, Brigitte Bardot, was the French sex symbol of the fifties and sixties. She lit up the movie screens of Europe and beyond with her beauty. She was liberated, provocative and sometimes shameless, in a society that was still very conservative.
