Nanowrimo-logo_small November is National Novel Writing Month and the organization behind it is challenging writers of all levels to get down to serious work and write fifty-thousand words in one month. As the deadline nears - the end of November - many wonder how these writers are doing. Are they reaching their goal? Are they penning the great American novel?

In Chicago at a writer's workshop in a loft on the city's Northwest side, writers are taking part in what's called a WRITE-IN. Writers of all levels are coming together to create literary energy and write, write, write in hopes of reaching the goal of 50,000 words. Some are well on their way, some beyond the goal, some struggling to get past 500 words. But the WRITE-IN is a unique venue offering help to get writers motivated, focused, and to give support through the energy of a collective group trying to write that next bestseller.
