I've always been very against arranged marriage until realized that I didn't know anything about it. So I talked to my mom about it and she told me about her arranged marriage to my dad. I asked her things like how many suitors she had and how she felt about them. I also asked her what my dad was like when they first met, what their wedding was like, and how it was living together with someone you had only dated once before. Even though this experience didn't change my views on arranged marriage, it softened them.

Review of Arranged MarriageI liked listening to Swati's mother's experience of having an arranged marriage. The traditions and customs were especially interesting to hear. What I thought was really cool was that historically, most Indian arranged marriages were between children, so they had them play games to get them to know each other. And even though most of the marriages now are between two adults, the game-playing tradition has continued. I feel that Swati talked a bit too fast at some points and at others she sounded almost bored. Also, the ending of the piece was very abrupt, with her mother all of a sudden saying, "Okay, bye!" With a few cuts and changes, I think this can be a really great piece. |

Review of Arranged Marriage
The start of this piece I believe, could be stronger. The story is good, but to grab the listener's attention. Using shorter sound bytes and a bit of music in the background would make this piece stand out. The end was quite sudden If this is the first part of a piece then some sort of transition needs to be there to signify that there will be more to come.
