Tricks and treats,
This year autumn came slowly to Europe. There has been little rain in London, and the temperatures have been mild. Only a couple of times have I seen dew drops hovering on the brink of nighttime frost, clinging to cars in the parking lot below my kitchen window. Leaves linger on the trees, dancing a last waltz in time with the breeze before falling.
For the moment the tricks The European Union are playing with the Euro have been removed from the forefront of the news. The personal squabbles of the European Heads of State; French president Nicholas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are put aside. Sarkozy and Merkel joined forces to rail on the Italian Prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi. Sarkozy went even further, displaying his French temper when finally telling British prime minister, David Cameron, to bug out of any discussions on the Euro....
