Roy Book Binder is an American blues guitarist. A student and friend of the Rev. Gary Davis, he is equally at home with blues and ragtime, he is known to shift from open tunings to slide arrangements to original compositions, with both traditional and self-styled licks. His storytelling emphasis is another characteristic that makes his style unique.

Topics discussed include: Early music memories - Seeing Buddy Holly live, in New York City. Reading Jack Keroac and Allen Ginsberg poetry. Wanting to be a beatnick.  Joining the Navy. Going back to school and quitting to go on the road. Recording "He's in the Jailhouse Now" for Blue Goose Records. Playing hootenannys with Pheobe Snow, and Richie Havens. Working at an orphanage in the Bronx as a counselor. How it influenced his life.
Actually doing something for people. How his letter of recommendation from Reverend
Davis got him his job.  (Believing it was his minister). After the orphanage, aswering mail for Mrs. Davis, coorespoding with Robert Tilling about the Blues scene, and then immediately  going to England. Getting a flat, gig, and money within a week, and thinking it was the best thing he ever did.

Musical selections include: I'm Going Home Someday, The Preacher Picked A Guitar, Anywhere You Go, Blind Lemon, Travelin' Man Blues, Statesborough Blues.
