November 3, 2011: Mira's Movement, with co-founder Christine Brouwer and founding board member, John McKain, was launched in honor and memory of Mira Brouwer, who died April 26, 2008, at the age of 4, from unforeseen complications of treatment to prevent the return of brain cancer. Mira's Movement works to support families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis, to raise awareness of the prevalence and impact of pediatric cancer, and to mobilize support for increased public and private funding of pediatric cancer research.
