"Misfire" is a short, conceptual sound piece commissioned by the Third Coast Audio Festival in 2003. To celebrate the versatility of the documentary form, The Third Coast Audio Festival commissioned four new works on a single topic. Producers were invited to submit proposals for stories relating to the topic of THIRST. From the nearly eighty proposals submitted, the Third Coast Festival staff selected four proposals ranging widely in style and vision, each demonstrating a different interpretation of the assigned topic. The TCF ShortDocs debuted at the Third Coast Festival Conference, where ShortDoc producers participated in a panel discussion, hosted by John Hockenberry, about their work. The ShortDocs were also featured in a Third Coast Festival Listening Room.
