Hand: Guess where the Northwest's premier wine region first popped up? It wasn’t Walla Walla or the Willamette Valley. Not even Southern Idaho. It was a place that won international awards and had vineyards rumored to be connected to the Rothschilds of Bordeaux. Today, it’s dominated not by grape vines, but a paper mill. This once esteemed wine region is located in Lewiston, Idaho and the valley it shares with Clarkston, Washington.
