I’m Peter Neill, Director of the World Ocean Observatory
World Ocean Radio looks often at a variety of problems that confront the ocean, bemoaning the loss of this or that, destruction of this or that, and indifference to this or that. We talk always about the little realities, however significant, the negatives that confront us every day when we observe what is happening to the ocean.

Frequently I am asked what would I do. If I had a magic wand, what would I do to change the causes and effects of our actions that amplify with such portent around us? The question is complicated, thus so too must be the answer. But I thought I would list a few actions, however improbable each might sound, to outline changes in policy, planning, and governance that just might make a difference.
