All new for 2011, the Retro Cocktail Hour stirs up a monstrous Halloween brew of swinging instrumental pop and silly novelty songs from the golden age of hi-fi. We'll hear from classic albums like Alfred Hitchcock's Music To Be Murdered By, Shock: Music In Hi-Fi, Poe for Moderns, Themes from Horror Movies and The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, plus TV and movie gems from The Munsters, The Addams Family, Jack the Ripper, Mad Monster Party and Ed Wood.
We'll also scare up some twisted pop songs, like House of Horrors (sung by Merv Griffin!), Sheb Wooley's Purple People Eater, Frankenstein's Den by the Hollywood Flames, Blues for Vampira by the Moon-Rays and Alvino Rey's The Bat (from the Vincent Price movie).
Adding spice to the mix - trailers from monster movies both classic and cheesy, including The Frozen Dead, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Voodoo Woman. All that plus Lon Chaney, Jr. SINGS!
