Bluegrass Review # 1141. show for Oct 8 - 14, 2011

Series: The Bluegrass Review
From: Philip Nusbaum
Length: 00:58:59

Our show begins with songs about kids. In bluegrass there are a lot of tragic songs about kids, but this time we mix in a lot of cute and uplifting songs. Check out the new Blue Highway song Heather and Billy, about a couple that finds kids no one wants, and gives them good homes. Our Gem of Bluegrass details the broad effects of bluegrass banjo. Then, we play some recent tribute songs, including some for Bill Monroe. Then we talk to Audie Blaylock, who has done a recent set of Bill Monroe songs. We’re asking listeners to suggest Bluegrass to be Thankful for to be aired about Thanksgiving. This is the bluegrass that really moves listeners. Listeners use the contact link at www.bluegrassreview.com to tell us which songs they are thankful for, and why. The playlist for this show is located at www.bluegrassreview.com. Or join the Bluegrass Review discussion on Facebook, just do a Facebook search for Bluegrass Review. Then join the conversation. Read the full description.
