Lead: Kentucky’s signature distilled spirit—bourbon--is riding high. Bourbon makers are turning out and selling their product in unprecedented numbers.

And tens of thousands of people turned out this month in Bardstown, Kentucky for the six-day 20th annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival.

Rick Howlett has more on bourbon’s surging popularity.

One of the festival’s opening events is a tasting. A sell-out crowd turned out to sip bourbon, one of which was Woodford Reserve, where Chris Morris is the master distiller.
