In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, some blues and jazz music in response to the attacks of September 11, 2001. As we mark ten years since that tragic day, we'll hear songs from bluesman, and native New Yorker, Michael Hill, who reaffirms the strength, spirit, and resilience of his city in the face of the attack. We'll also hear blues singer Chuck Roberson's song for his country post 9/11, and a couple of pieces from "September Suite," composed by jazz pianist Amina Figarova after the attacks, which she witnessed from a friend's window in Brooklyn where she was visiting that day. Also - new jazz from pianist Cedar Walton, and a tribute album to the late Gil Scott-Heron from singer Giacomo Gates, and some Coltrane.
