As Elvis and Chubby Checker came into American homes Swan’s Island teenagers were jiving along, too. Gwen May remembers the record hops she went to as a teenager on the island. She especially remembers the boys she danced with. She had so much fun at those dances that she decided to revive them in the 1980’s as fundraisers for the school kids. Romance was always the theme for Gwen.
