We depend on machines that use electricity - from our cars to our cellphones to our computers to the overhead light. It's no surprise that more machines are making our music. The influence of machines can be subtle or obvious, like in the dizzying array of sub-genres collectively known as electronic music. Among these is the paradoxically human-machine, techno-organic, cool-sexy, booty-shaking beat-world of electronic dance music.
