Newport Jazz Festival 2011: New Black Eagle Jazz Band In Concert
From: NPR Music
Series: Newport Jazz Festival 2011
Length: 59:43
The following text is from the concert's story page on NPR Music: You might not exactly expect one of the world's premier traditional jazz groups to play their regular gigs in exurban Boston. But the members of the New Black Eagle Jazz Band are experts in ragtime, early New Orleans and Chicago styles, and small group swing — and have been together in one form or another since 1971. The Black Eagles head south to the 2011 Newport Jazz Festival to kick off action on the Harbor Stage. Recorded live at the Newport Jazz Festival on Saturday, August 6. Available for free to NPR member stations for broadcast, up to 4 times in 3 years. If you're not an NPR member station, contact programservices@npr.org.
