In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, we'll spin a few songs from a smart and soulful new album, "The Business," from guitarist Charlie Apicella and his band Iron City, featuring some deft interplay between guitar, organ, and tenor sax with a tinge of Latin rhythm. We'll also hear bluesman Eric Gales; free now from drugs and jail, Gales is on the comeback trail big time. He has a new album with a fitting title, "Transformation." Also The Dukes Of Hazzard's Luke Duke, Tom Wopat, has another album out called "Consider It Swung" ... we'll do just that. We'll hear drummer and vocalist Terri Lyne Carrington's all-female band totally transform a Beatles song on her new album, "The Mosaic Project," and play a song from Laura Ainsworth from an appealing debut disc called "Keep It To Yourself" - - which we won't do with Laura's music, we'll get it out to you instead - - plus the latest from 8-string guitarist Fred Fried and his band Core, from a new album called "Encore."
