A small company in middle Georgia is turning the tables on global trade – it’s making chopsticks and sending them to China. And it may be the start of new manufacturing trend in Georgia.

Who would have thought it? But the small Georgia city of Americus – about three hours south of Atlanta - is becoming the go-to place to help Asia meet its demand for wooden chopsticks. Korean immigrant, Jae Lee, started Georgia Chopsticks in November.

T19:1007. Right now we are making about 2 million pairs of chopsticks per day. But we are increasing. End of this year, we’ll produce 10 million per day.
