This Friday, another moment from StoryCorps.
StoryCorps, the national oral history project, is capturing this nation’s stories. Friends and loved ones come in pairs to share personal recollections with one another at StoryCorps’ soundproof recording booths. And some of those stories end up here on Morning Edition.
Kelley Edwards, 44, interviewed her mother, Judy Allen, 65, who was visiting from Portland, OR at the StoryCorps booth in Grand Central Terminal. Judy reflected on the large events in her life during the interview. Here, Judy divulges the story of the end of her romance with her ex-husband more than 20 years ago.
