Mrho_small In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, some good vibrations... not from the Beach Boys, but from new jazz releases featuring vibraphones. We have Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica on tap. Mr. Ho is vibraphonist and band leader Brian O'Neill, who takes an idea that was strangely popular in the mid 20th century - - exotica - - music that was contrived to sound exotic - - and decides to do it right... no phony bird calls, just great jazz. We'll also hear from Starlicker with vibe master Jason Adasiewicz holding the mallets, and playing with adventurous cornet player Rob Mazurek and drummer John Herndon, both of whom have worked in Chicago's avant-garde rock and jazz scenes; plus the latest from vibe dazzler Stefon Harris - and we have some strong new piano trio jazz from Hiromi Uehara and Skip Wilkins, all coming up in this hour of The Blues & Beyond.
