Did you know that according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, 16 of the 20 fastest growing occupations in the state require education beyond high school? To meet this demand, Minnesota will need to increase the rate of students who finish some type of post-secondary education by 50%. The Minnesota Minority Education Partnership recently released the College Access Matters II, Diverse Student Pathways to College in Minnesota. Data from this report was presented at Winona State University in April by the MN Minority Program Director Amanda Zibell Finley. In today's episode of Culture Clique Ziebell Finley presents The reports findings from over 3000 Minnesotan high school students. We will learn about the 4 stages of how minorities and people from low income families can better prepare students for college readiness. Stay tuned after the presentation as KQAL's own Anna Flores sits down with Ziebell-Finely for a closer look on the subject.
